Deoghar Administration Reviews Shravani Mela Preparations, Directs Timely Completion of All Works

Deoghar: As part of the preparations for Rajkiya Shravani Mela 2026, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania and Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar jointly inspected the fair area and Kanwariya route to review arrangements for the safety and convenience of devotees. During the inspection, officials were instructed to complete all assigned works within the stipulated time.The inspection covered the ISBT, Kothiya Tent City construction site, Sarsa, Bhaluwa, Paritraan, Dumma Border and the Kanwariya route. The officials reviewed the progress of ongoing works and directed the concerned departments to speed up pending projects.At the proposed Tent City in Kothiya, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for safe, hygienic and comfortable accommodation for pilgrims. Officials were directed to ensure proper sanitation, ventilation, fire safety, electrical safety and a comprehensive electrical audit. Adequate distance between accommodation areas and toilets, along with a secure power distribution system, was also emphasized.
To streamline traffic during the fair, well-organized parking facilities will be developed at Kothiya, Paritraan, Sarsa and Bhaluwa. The administration also directed officials to provide barricading, separate toilets and bathing facilities for men and women, health camps, public address systems, cleanliness measures and information boards at these locations.

During the inspection of the Kanwariya route from Dumma Border to Khijuria, the Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to lay fine sand across the entire route, shift overhead electric wires to a safer height, clean areas around hand pumps and remove encroachments. He emphasized that every arrangement should be made keeping the comfort and safety of pilgrims in mind.The administration also reviewed the progress of administrative camps, police outposts, health centres, information and assistance centres, holding points, toilets, bathing facilities, rain shelters and tourism facilities along the route. Officials were instructed to ensure timely completion of all these works and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the pilgrimage route.Reviewing drinking water arrangements, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted water supply, regular cleaning of toilets and proper drainage to prevent waterlogging on the route. Round-the-clock sanitation services across the fair area were also ordered to ensure a clean environment for pilgrims.The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the Adhyatmik Bhavan and instructed officials to further improve the facilities available there. He reviewed the power infrastructure across the fair area and directed the concerned engineers to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and complete all electrical works before the commencement of the fair.
The inspection was attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena, the Additional Collector, Sub-Divisional Officer, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Traffic DSP, Headquarters DSP and senior officials from various departments, along with police officers.
