Deoghar's Amrapali Mangoes Reach Dubai Market

Deoghar: grown Amrapali mangoes have made their way to the international market, marking a significant achievement for the district's horticulture sector. The first consignment of one tonne, or 1,000 kilograms, of Amrapali mangoes has reached the renowned Lulu Retail Store in Dubai, where it is now available for sale. This is the first time that a fruit produced by farmers from Deoghar, particularly women farmers and members of women self-help groups, has been exported directly to the global market. The mangoes were packed using special export-grade packaging while meeting international quality standards to ensure their freshness and taste during transit. The consignment was exported with the support of APEDA and was sourced from women farmers associated with the Mohanpur Aajeevika Mahila Kisan Producer Company.

New opportunities for farmers

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania said the achievement marks an important step towards strengthening the economic prospects of local farmers. He said the successful export has opened new avenues for taking Deoghar's agricultural produce to international markets. Encouraged by this success, the district administration is planning to promote more local farm products in the global market, which is expected to help increase farmers' income in the coming years.
