Deputy Commissioner Reviews Social Security, Child Protection Work


Deoghar: Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania on Wednesday chaired a review meeting of the Social Security and Child Protection Department at the Collectorate to assess the progress of departmental programmes and discuss measures for strengthening child welfare initiatives.During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to further strengthen the District Child Protection Unit. He directed officials to complete the recruitment process for all vacant posts at the earliest so that departmental work gains momentum and child protection cases are addressed more efficiently.
He also asked officials to extend special support to orphaned, destitute and vulnerable children, including those who lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic. He directed the department to ensure that all 121 identified children are brought under the Sponsorship Scheme without delay so that they receive financial assistance and are integrated into the social mainstream.The Deputy Commissioner further instructed officials to have all applications examined through the designated committee and submit the verified cases to his office promptly. He said timely implementation of the scheme is essential to safeguard the rights and overall development of eligible children.Additional Director of Social Security Sarita Bharti, District Child Protection Officer Meera Kumari, Assistant Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar Vidyarthi, members of the Child Welfare Committee and officials and employees of the Social Security and Child Protection Department were present at the meeting.
