35 Tonnes of Stolen Coal Recovered from Abandoned Sirka Railway Siding

Giddi: The illegal stockpiling of stolen coal continues unabated in the Sirka Project area. Acting on information, the security department recovered around 35 tonnes of illegally stored coal that had been concealed in dense bushes near the abandoned railway siding of the Sirka Project.

The recovered coal was loaded onto tractors with the help of a JCB machine and transported to the coal stockyard at the CHP for official storage. Following the recovery operation, a trench was excavated using a JCB near the old Sirka weighbridge to prevent the movement and concealment of stolen coal in the area.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of GM Unit SSI Umesh Ravidas, ASSI Jitendra, Sirka Security In-charge and Inspector Ropna Sahu, Madan from Giddi 'A', along with several Home Guard personnel. Officials said the trenching exercise is expected to help curb coal theft and illegal storage in the future.
