Five Arrested in Deoghar Firing Case, Pistol and Motorcycle Seized





Deoghar: Police have cracked the firing case that took place near B.N. Jha College in Kanijor village under Kunda police station limits and arrested five accused involved in the incident. A 9 mm pistol and a Pulsar motorcycle used in the crime have also been recovered. One accused is currently undergoing medical treatment.According to police, information was received on June 3 about a person being shot near B.N. Jha College in Kanijor village. Acting on the information, Kunda Police registered Kunda P.S. Case No. 68/2026 on the basis of a written complaint lodged by Sub-Inspector Renson Bakhla. An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.Considering the seriousness of the incident, the Superintendent of Police constituted a special raiding team under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Sadar) Kuldeep Kumar. Using technical analysis and confidential inputs, the team conducted raids and arrested five accused allegedly involved in the firing. During the operation, police recovered one 9 mm pistol and a Pulsar motorcycle.
The arrested accused have been identified as Govind Kumar Yadav (18), son of Shaligram Yadav, resident of Khoradah; Suraj Kumar Yadav alias Golu (21), son of Montu Prasad Yadav, resident of Khoradah; Saurabh Dev alias Chhotu (19), son of Kavi Dev, resident of Sangram Lodhiya; Akshay Kumar Verma (21), son of Chandrashekhar Verma, resident of Bariyarbandhi; and Aditya Kumar (21), son of Madan Prasad Ram, resident of Subhash Chowk. All are residents of Deoghar district. Another accused, Abhishek Kumar (19), son of Dinesh Prasad Yadav and a resident of Bampas Town, is currently under treatment.Police officials said further investigation is underway to ascertain all aspects of the case. The swift arrest of the accused and recovery of the weapon have been viewed as a significant breakthrough in the investigation.The raiding team comprised SDPO (Sadar) Kuldeep Kumar, Police Inspector-cum-Officer-in-Charge of Nagar Police Station Rajeev Kumar, along with several police officers, armed personnel and members of the technical cell.
