Administration on Alert Ahead of Bakrid, Tight Security Measures in Place

Deoghar: The district administration has stepped up preparations to ensure that Eid-ul-Zoha, popularly known as Bakrid, is celebrated in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere across the district. In this connection, a high-level review meeting was held through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania. The meeting reviewed the progress of peace committee meetings conducted at subdivision and block levels and issued necessary instructions to maintain law and order during the festival.Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said the administration would deal strictly with anti-social elements attempting to disturb communal harmony during the festival. Cyber cell officials and police officers have been directed to maintain round-the-clock surveillance on social media platforms. Strict legal action will be taken against those found spreading rumours or provocative content capable of disturbing peace and communal harmony.The Deputy Commissioner instructed police officials to ensure adequate deployment of security personnel and magistrates at major intersections, sensitive locations and outside mosques across the town. The district control room has also been directed to remain operational round the clock for immediate response to complaints or emergencies. Subdivisional officers of Deoghar and Madhupur have been asked to remain actively engaged in monitoring the situation in their respective areas.

The drinking water department has been asked to ensure proper water supply, while the electricity department has been instructed to maintain uninterrupted power services.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to residents to celebrate the festival with traditional dignity, mutual respect and communal harmony. He urged people to immediately inform the local administration or the control room about any suspicious activity.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Collector, Subdivisional Officers of Deoghar and Madhupur, Subdivisional Police Officers, District Transport Officer, District Planning Officer, Block Development Officers, Circle Officers, Assistant Public Relations Officer, members of the DMFT team and other administrative and police officials.
