
Deoghar. A review meeting of various welfare and development schemes being run by the Welfare Department was held on Monday at the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of DC Shashi Prakash Singh. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the progress of schemes, budget allocation and expenditure, while officials were directed to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the last eligible beneficiary at the grassroots level.Reviewing the implementation status of different schemes, the DC stressed the need for better coordination at the district, block and panchayat levels. He reviewed the progress of welfare hostels, fencing work at Jahersthan sites, construction of Manjhi Bhawans, and the allocation and expenditure related to pre-matric and post-matric scholarship schemes. Necessary directions were issued to the concerned officials for timely execution of all works.The DC also reviewed the block-wise progress of bicycle distribution and instructed officials to ensure 100 percent distribution among eligible students. While reviewing the Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme and the Chief Minister Health Assistance Scheme, he directed officials to ensure that all deserving beneficiaries receive the benefits without delay.Emphasising the importance of awareness, the DC instructed officials to widely publicise the Chief Minister Health Assistance Scheme. He also directed Block Welfare Officers to maintain close coordination with the Health Department so that needy beneficiaries can receive medical assistance on time.Officials were further instructed to conduct regular field visits and organise meetings in rural areas to understand the actual needs of villagers, especially in the sectors of education and healthcare.Considering the rising temperature, the DC directed officials to ensure smooth drinking water supply in rural areas. He also stressed the need for awareness campaigns against social evils like child marriage and instructed officials to maintain strict vigilance on such cases. In addition, officials were asked to closely monitor the issues faced by PVTG communities and ensure their prompt resolution.
The meeting was attended by DDC Piyush Sinha, District Welfare Officer Dayanand Dubey, Assistant Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar, Block Welfare Officers from all blocks, along with other officials and employees of the Welfare Department.
