Jamshedpur: A major fire incident late Sunday night created panic in the Sankosai area under Mango’s Ulidih police station limits, where two parked buses were completely destroyed after suddenly catching fire.
According to local residents, smoke was initially noticed coming out from one of the buses parked on Road No. 1. Within moments, flames spread rapidly and engulfed the entire vehicle before reaching another nearby bus.
Initial reports suggest that a short circuit may have sparked the fire, leading to the massive blaze.
The intense flames and thick smoke disturbed the otherwise quiet night, drawing residents out of their homes. Locals immediately informed the police and fire department about the incident.
Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and began efforts to control the blaze. After a prolonged firefighting operation, the flames were finally extinguished, but both buses had already been reduced to charred remains.
The incident also affected traffic movement in the area for some time as emergency response teams carried out firefighting and safety operations.
Thankfully, no injuries or loss of life were reported. However, the fire caused property damage estimated to be worth several lakh rupees.
Police have started an investigation to determine the exact reason behind the fire.
