FOWA Marks Earth Day 2026 with Plantation Drive and Awareness Programme in Ranchi

Ranchi: Forest Officers Wives Association (FOWA) organised a grand and inspiring programme to celebrate Earth Day 2026, aiming to promote environmental conservation and awareness. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from members, children, and invited guests.
The programme began with a formal welcome and ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Vishakha Verma delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of Earth Day and the need for community participation in protecting the environment.
A felicitation ceremony for guests was held, during which speakers shared inspiring thoughts on sustainable development, environmental conservation, and individual responsibility. A plantation drive was also conducted as part of the programme, reinforcing the commitment towards ecological preservation. Members of FOWA also shared motivational messages, spreading awareness among attendees.
To encourage young participants, prizes were distributed among students from Adivasi Balika High School Ratu (70 participants), Maharani Prem Manjari Balika High School (49 participants), and ASTVS District School (40 participants). Members were also honoured with mementos for their contributions, followed by a group photograph with all participants.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Meenu Pandian, expressing gratitude to all guests and participants. Cultural performances and a community meal were also organised.
On the occasion, FOWA President Bharti Kumar emphasised the interconnectedness of all living beings and the importance of maintaining environmental balance. She noted that the world is facing serious challenges due to climate change and urged everyone to adopt sustainable practices, including planting more trees and conserving water and electricity to ensure a safer future for coming generations.
She also highlighted that FOWA has been consistently organising such awareness initiatives in the past and will continue its efforts towards environmental protection in the future.
