
Deoghar: A district-level cattle fair and exhibition was organized on Friday at the premises of the District Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department. The program was chaired by DC Naman Priyesh Lakra, who inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.During the program, livestock farmers and cultivators were informed about scientific methods of animal husbandry and the importance of regular vaccination of animals and birds. Detailed information was also shared about government schemes, including the Chief Minister Livestock Development Scheme and central schemes such as NLM, LHDCP, NAIP and ABIP. Special emphasis was laid on timely vaccination to prevent diseases like FMD, PPR, Brucellosis, LSD and CSF under LHDCP.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said that such fairs provide a valuable platform for farmers to learn about modern techniques and advancements in animal husbandry. He urged farmers to take full advantage of these opportunities. He added that combining agriculture with animal husbandry can significantly increase income and ensure economic stability.The DC also directed officials to organize exposure visits for local farmers and students of Rabindra Nath Tagore Agricultural University to Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sujni. The aim is to help them understand modern farming techniques, new crop varieties and advanced agricultural practices at the ground level to improve productivity.
Assets Distributed Under Government Schemes Under the Chief Minister Livestock Development Scheme, assets related to goat rearing, duck farming and broiler poultry were distributed among beneficiaries from different blocks. Beneficiaries from Sarwan, Sarath, Devipur and other blocks received support for livestock activities.An exhibition of animals was also organized, and stalls were set up to provide information on animal nutrition, digestion and disease management. The DC and other officials inspected the exhibition and stalls during the event.Officials from the Animal Husbandry Department, Horticulture Department, Public Relations Office and other departments were present on the occasion.
