Ranchi: One person was killed on the spot in a hit-and-run accident near Bhusur TOP under the Dhurwa police station limits on Thursday. The incident occurred when the victim was crossing the road and was struck by a speeding vehicle. The impact was so severe that the victim died instantly at the accident site.
The vehicle involved in the accident reportedly fled the scene immediately after the collision. Angered by the incident, local residents staged a protest by placing the body on the road and blocking traffic.
The protesters demanded compensation for the victim’s family and the immediate arrest of the driver responsible for the accident. Due to the road blockade, traffic movement came to a complete halt in the Dhurwa–Bhusur TOP area, causing significant inconvenience to commuters.
Upon receiving information, police personnel from Dhurwa police station and Bhusur TOP reached the spot with additional force. Police officials attempted to pacify the protesters and assured them that the accused driver would be arrested soon and strict action would be taken as per the law.
