Unity March in Giridih Commemorates Sardar Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary

Giridih: The 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was marked on Tuesday with a unity march organised at Jhanda Maidan. Giridih MP Chandraprakash Choudhary graced the event as the chief guest, accompanied by state RLP president Rajkumar Raj, BJP leader Kameshwar Paswan, AJSU women’s district president Priyanka Sharma Nehru, Giridih College principal Dr. Anuj Kumar, Prof. Vinita Kumari, Bandhana Chourasia, Soni Sah, Dharmendra Kumar and members of Nehru Yuva Kendra. A large number of NSS and NCC cadets and students also joined the event.

The march started after the MP and other dignitaries flagged it off and offered floral tributes to Patel’s portrait. The procession moved from Jhanda Maidan through Tower Chowk, Kalibari, Maktpur, Barganda and JC Bose Road before circling back to the starting point.

Participants, including students, raised patriotic slogans during the march. They also pledged to stay away from intoxicants and uphold the nation’s unity and sovereignty.
