Hazaribagh — The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), a flagship initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has transformed Tetariya village in Ichak block of Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand, by providing much-needed road connectivity.
For years, the village remained isolated due to broken and muddy roads, making daily life a struggle. Today, a newly constructed pucca road has changed everything — connecting not only Tetariya but also several nearby villages. Villagers now have easy access to essential services, the block office, schools, markets, and hospitals.
Residents recall how difficult it was to step out after dark or travel during the rainy season. Patients and pregnant women suffered the most, as reaching hospitals was nearly impossible. But with the new road, life has returned to normal, travel has become safe, and villagers are no longer fearful.
Villager Ravishankar Kumar shared, “Earlier, the road was in such poor condition that we were cut off completely. But now, people can travel freely, and the city feels much closer.” Another resident, Ashish Soni, added, “This road has removed our years-long troubles. We are thankful to the Prime Minister for making this possible.”
Mukhiya Anita Devi praised the scheme as a turning point for Tetariya. “This road has brought development. Children can attend school easily, farmers can reach the market, and women now have better access to health services,” she said.
