Jamshedpur Shaken by Consecutive Robberies: Businessman Loses ?30 Lakh After Jewellery Shop Heist

Jamshedpur — Panic has gripped Jamshedpur after two daring robberies within 24 hours. On Thursday, a businessman was robbed of ?30 lakh in the busy Bistupur Gurudwara area, just a day after armed men looted a jewellery shop in Sonari.

Businessman Saket Agrawal was on his way to deposit cash when two men stopped his scooter, threw chilli powder into his eyes, and snatched his bag. As he attempted to resist, the robbers fired shots in the air before escaping in an SUV.

The daylight crime, close to the residence of local MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, has sparked anger among traders, who say law and order in the city is collapsing.

The incident follows Wednesday’s jewellery shop heist where armed men assaulted owner Pankaj Jain and fled with ornaments worth lakhs. Police have launched investigations into both cases.
