Ranchi - On the final day of the Monsoon Session, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi once again launched a sharp attack on the state government over the proposed RIMS-2 project in Nagdi. Speaking before the session began, Marandi demanded that the government abandon its insistence on setting up RIMS-2 in Nagdi. He further urged the state to withdraw the FIRs lodged against those who participated in the protest held on August 24 in Nagdi.
Marandi also criticized the University Bill, alleging that it seeks to reduce the powers of the Governor. He remarked that if the government wishes to compare the Bill with the so-called “Gujarat model,” then Jharkhand should first achieve the level of development seen in Gujarat before adopting such provisions.
Raising the issue of the state’s changing demographic profile, Marandi pressed the government to order an investigation. He also questioned why the government was engaged in renaming established institutions such as Atal Kalanik and various universities. According to him, instead of renaming existing institutions, the state should focus on establishing new hospitals and colleges.
In addition, Marandi demanded a CBI probe into the encounter case of Surya Hansda, calling it a matter of grave concern that requires independent investigation.
