DRDO aerodynamics panel begins two-day review meeting at BIT Mesra

Ranchi: The Aerodynamics Panel of the Aeronautical Research and Development Board (AR&DB), DRDO, began its two-day review meeting at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, Ranchi, on Friday. The event is being hosted by the Department of Space Engineering and Rocketry.

Department head and institute convener Dr. Priyank Kumar welcomed panel members at the opening session. Panel chairman and distinguished scientist Dr. G. Balu highlighted the crucial role of aerodynamics in defence technology and its integration with other disciplines.

BIT Mesra vice-chancellor Prof. Indranil Manna stressed the need for interdisciplinary collaboration and called for more focused research in line with national defence priorities. AR&DB secretary Dr. S. K. Pandey outlined the board’s vision, key research areas, and funding opportunities available for academia and research institutions.

The event also featured the release of a physics book authored by Dr. B. D. Dwary. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by BIT Mesra registrar Dr. Sudip Das. The review meeting will continue over the next two days, assessing ongoing projects and setting directions for future research.
