The streets of Gumla came alive with festive fervour on Sunday evening as thousands of people joined a grand procession to celebrate Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti. Members of the Agarwal community, including women, men and children, participated in the event, filling the city with chants, music and fireworks.
The procession began at Agrasen Bhawan and passed through major roads, including Main Road and Jashpur Road. Devotional slogans in praise of Maharaja Agrasen echoed across the city as participants moved through the streets amid traditional music and celebrations.
The enthusiastic participation of women, young people and children added to the festive atmosphere. Fireworks and musical performances further enhanced the celebrations, turning the procession into a vibrant public event.
Maharaja Agrasen, revered by the Agarwal community, is remembered for his ideals of equality, social welfare, cooperation and humanity. His teachings continue to inspire people to promote mutual respect, brotherhood and collective responsibility.
