Ranchi: Dr. Michaelraj S., Inspector General of Police (Operation), chaired a review meeting on Tuesday at the Police Headquarters auditorium, focusing on follow-up of directives issued during the earlier review meeting held on June 10 concerning anti-Naxal operations.
During the meeting, intensified action against Maoists and splinter groups active in the Palamu region was emphasised. District Superintendents of Police shared updates on the verification of Naxals and their aides who were released on bail this year. IG directed that regular surveillance be maintained on all such individuals.
Progress on 17 pending cases under the CLA Act and UAPA was reviewed. Investigating officers were instructed to expedite investigations and ensure timely disposal. The status of proclamations and property attachment proceedings against absconding Naxals was also examined, with directions issued to submit reward proposals against key wanted individuals.
The condition of police pickets in remote and interior areas was also discussed in detail, focusing on infrastructure and resource availability.
The meeting was attended in person by Manoj Ratan Chothe, DIG (SIB), Amit Renu, SP (Campaign), and Nathu Singh Meena, SP (SIB). Senior officers from CRPF and police officials from Palamu zone, including the Regional IGP, DIG Palamu, and SPs of Latehar, Palamu, and Garhwa participated via video conferencing.
