Cabinet Approves Rs. 11,169 Cr Railway Projects Including Jharkhand’s Dangoaposi-Jaroli Line to Boost Connectivity Across 6 States

New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved four important multi-tracking railway projects with a total investment of ?11,169 crore.

The approved projects are:

  • Itarsi–Nagpur 4th Line

  • Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar)–Parbhani Doubling

  • Aluabari Road–New Jalpaiguri 3rd and 4th Line

  • Dangoaposi–Jaroli 3rd and 4th Line

These projects cover 13 districts across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand, adding 574 km to the Indian Railways network.

The expansion will enhance mobility, efficiency, and reliability of services. Around 2,309 villages and over 43.60 lakh people will directly benefit.

These routes are crucial for transporting coal, cement, fly ash, agricultural products, containers, and petroleum, and will allow for an additional 95.91 million tonnes of freight annually.

Aligned with PM Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India, the projects will generate employment and boost local development.

Under the PM Gati Shakti Master Plan, they aim to improve multi-modal connectivity and reduce logistics costs. Additionally, they’ll cut oil imports by 16 crore litres and reduce 515 crore kg of CO2 emissions—equal to planting 20 crore trees.
