Senior Jharkhand leader Tarun Gupta rejoins BJP after six years, warmly received by Babulal Marandi

Giridih — After a six-year break, veteran leader from Jamtara, Tarun Kumar Gupta, has returned to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His rejoining was marked by a welcome from BJP's Jharkhand state president and Leader of the Opposition, Babulal Marandi, who presented Gupta with the party badge at his residence in Giridih.

Gupta, who earlier served as the BJP’s district president in Jamtara, has run for the state assembly four times—twice as a BJP candidate and twice independently. He also held the post of vice-president in the district's 20-point programme implementation committee.

Known for his strong grassroots connection, Gupta was expelled from the party six years ago after contesting against the official BJP nominee. Now, rejoining the party, he expressed appreciation and promised dedicated service.

“I am thankful to the party for reinstating me. I will fulfill my responsibilities with full sincerity and work to strengthen the BJP, especially in the Santhal Pargana region,” Gupta said.

Welcoming him, Babulal Marandi stated that Gupta’s return would bring renewed energy to the BJP, especially in Jamtara and across Santhal Pargana—a region where the party has traditionally struggled.
