Indian Coast Guard Conducts Awareness Drive in Ranchi to Inspire Youth

New Delhi: The Indian Coast Guard, responsible for protecting India’s vast maritime borders, held an awareness campaign in Ranchi on Monday to encourage young people to join the force and contribute to national security.

The event, part of a nationwide initiative, aimed to familiarize students with career opportunities in the Coast Guard and support the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth and senior Coast Guard officers engaged with students at SS Memorial College and other institutions.

DIG K.L. from the Coast Guard shared valuable insights into the force’s technical and operational aspects. The students also received bags and kits.

Calling the initiative a “golden opportunity,” Sanjay Seth emphasized the importance of youth participation in national service and posted about the event on social media, noting the students' enthusiasm.

The Coast Guard is conducting similar outreach programs across 50 educational institutions in Ranchi. Apart from safeguarding the maritime borders, the force plays a critical role in marine conservation and disaster response.
