Jharkhand Mini Fencing Team Shines in Nashik, Clinches Five Medals

Ranchi – Jharkhand's mini fencing team delivered an outstanding performance at the 13th Mini and 7th Child National Fencing Championship held in Nashik from July 5 to 7, winning a total of five medals — one gold, one silver, and three bronze. Upon their return to Ranchi on Wednesday, the team received a grand welcome at Hatia railway station.

The celebration was led by officials of the Jharkhand Fencing Association, including General Secretary Jai Kumar Sinha, Vice President Dinesh Kumar Singh, and Treasurer Karamveer Oraon. The young athletes were greeted with garlands and sweets, and were congratulated and encouraged for future competitions.

The 30-member team featured young talents from the districts of Ranchi, Ramgarh, and Lohardaga. Among the medal winners, Shikat Oraon from Ranchi bagged the gold in the Under-10 sabre category, while Srishti Kumari earned a silver medal in épée. Arpan Toppo secured a bronze in épée, Saras Gadi took home a bronze in foil, and Ishan won a bronze in the mini foil event.

Jharkhand Fencing Association President Archit Anand and other officials praised the team’s achievements and extended their best wishes. The team was accompanied by head coach Ramashish Singh, assistant coach Rohan, and team managers Vaijayanti Tigga and Sanjay Khalkho.
