After plane crash, Congs cancels 'Save Constitution' rally

Ranchi: The devastating plane crash that occurred on June 12 in Ahmedabad has shaken the entire nation. Over 200 people lost their lives in the tragedy, spreading a wave of grief across the country. Upon receiving news of the accident, the Congress party canceled its previously scheduled “Save the Constitution Rally” and transformed it into a condolence meeting.

Congress workers marched from City Center to Gandhi Seva Sadan, where they observed two minutes of silence to pray for the souls of the deceased.

During the condolence meeting, Congress district president Santosh Singh and Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Disciplinary Committee chief Brijendra Prasad Singh sharply criticized the central government. They stated that the accident was not merely a technical fault but a result of the government’s gross negligence. Ensuring the safety of citizens is the government’s fundamental responsibility, in which it has completely failed.

Santosh Singh and Brijendra Prasad Singh demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Civil Aviation Minister take moral responsibility and resign immediately. They also called for a high-level judicial inquiry into the incident and urged that victims’ families receive swift and adequate compensation.

Senior Congress leaders, members of the Women’s Congress, Youth Congress, and NSUI were also present in large numbers. The gathering collectively expressed condolences and conveyed that the party stands with the common people in their time of sorrow.
