Domestic help flees with valuables from Ranchi home

Ranchi: An 18-year-old girl working as a domestic help at a cloth trader’s residence in Indrapuri locality under Sukhedeonagar police station has allegedly fled with clothes and household items around 2 AM about a week ago. The girl, identified as Rekha Kumari from Ghaghra in Gumla district, was reportedly accompanied by her alleged boyfriend during the escape.

The incident came to light after CCTV footage from outside the house showed the duo leaving with several items. When the house owner informed Rekha’s family, they claimed she had returned home, but without any of the stolen goods, raising suspicions about possible involvement of her family in the matter.

The incident has sparked concern among local residents, serving as a reminder to remain cautious. Authorities and community members have urged households to ensure proper identity verification, permanent address confirmation, and police clearance before hiring domestic workers to prevent such incidents.
