Ranchi: The death anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, was observed at the Congress Bhawan on Tuesday. On this occasion, Congress leaders and party workers paid floral tributes to Nehru’s portrait and offered their heartfelt homage.
While offering their respects, the leaders highlighted various aspects of Nehru’s life. They recalled his invaluable contribution to India’s freedom struggle, noting that he spent over 10 years in jail during the movement. After independence, his visionary leadership laid the foundation for building a modern India.
Nehru, known as the architect of modern India, introduced the principle of Panchsheel to the world and ensured equal participation of all Indian states in the process of nation-building. He also strengthened India’s diplomatic ties with several countries to bolster economic development.
During his tenure, Nehru promoted industrialization and social reforms and shaped India’s foreign policy on the principle of non-alignment.
Prominent among those who paid tribute were State Congress Media In-charge Rakesh Sinha, Sonal Shanti, Jagdish Sahu, Naveen Singh, Suren Ram, Narendra Kumar Lal, Prabhat Kumar, Kamta Paswan, Bholanath Singh, Manoj Kumar Singh, Mohsin Ahmed, Rambachan Paswan, and Arun Prasad.
