CM Soren to Chair High-Level Meeting on 16 Key Issues Including Infiltration and Crime on May 27

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will preside over a high-level review meeting on May 27 to evaluate the state’s law and order situation. The meeting will focus on sixteen critical issues, including illegal infiltration and major criminal activities. It will be held at Project Bhavan in Ranchi and attended in person by the Chief Minister, along with the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, and the Director General of Police (DGP). Zonal Inspectors General (IGs), Range Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), and all district Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) will join via video conferencing. Preparations for this crucial meeting are currently underway at the Jharkhand Police Headquarters.

In advance of the Chief Minister’s review, the DGP will conduct a preparatory meeting on May 26 with all district SPs to discuss the same sixteen key issues. This is intended to ensure thorough readiness and error-free reporting during the CM’s meeting. District SPs have been directed to submit detailed reports on all relevant matters to the CID and Special Branch by May 25.

The sixteen key issues to be reviewed include the status of major crimes in the state, progress in investigations and arrests, and measures to tackle cybercrime. The meeting will also assess steps taken to control the trafficking, manufacture, and use of illegal arms, and address illegal infiltration into the state. Crimes against women, atrocities against Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Scheduled Castes (SCs), as well as legal and preventive measures in these cases, will be examined.

Other topics include rising land disputes and their impact on public order, the effectiveness of anti-mob lynching efforts, and security for lawmakers, parliamentarians, and other high-profile individuals. The meeting will also evaluate court complex security, communal harmony, caste-related tensions, acid attacks, and victim assistance programs.

Additionally, measures against illegal mining, crackdowns on unauthorized lottery operations, and efforts to control the production, sale, and smuggling of illicit liquor will be reviewed.

This meeting underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing law and order through coordinated, statewide administrative efforts.
