Tanker Driver Electrocuted at Palamu Crusher Plant, Family Demands Compensation

Ranchi: A tragic incident took place on Wednesday evening at the MVS Crusher Plant in Dhusruwa, under the Pipra police station area of Palamu district, where a tanker driver, Rajendra Yadav, died after suffering an electric shock while refueling a diesel generator.

Despite the passage of more than 17 hours since the accident, the victim’s body remains at the site. His grieving family is refusing to allow its removal, staging a protest and demanding compensation along with other assurances from the plant authorities.

According to reports, Rajendra Yadav was operating a mini diesel tanker at the plant. While refueling the DG generator on Wednesday evening, he was electrocuted. Though local workers and family members rushed to take him to a hospital, he died en route. His body was later brought back and placed on the plant premises.

The deceased's family claims the incident occurred during duty hours and holds the plant management accountable. They are demanding ?15 lakh in compensation, a monthly maintenance allowance for Yadav’s wife, and immediate financial support for the funeral. They have also called for the plant owner to be present at the site.

Sub-Inspector Nakul Sharma from Pipra Police confirmed the incident, stating that police personnel are present and trying to defuse the situation. However, no resolution has been reached as of yet.
