Chief Minister Champai Soren said these things today while addressing the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of various schemes at Kharkai Ganjia Barrage located in Gamharia block of Seraikela-Kharsawan district. The Chief Minister said that the government is making efforts to provide irrigation and drinking water facilities.
In this sequence, the foundation stone of "Pipeline Irrigation Scheme" is being laid under Seraikela-Kharsawan district. The farmers of this state have to be empowered. The government is committed to ensure that the farmer brothers can progress by farming well and ensure the food security of the state. Our government is working with dedication towards the farmers of Jharkhand.
It is our endeavor that in the coming days, water should be supplied through pipelines to the fields of farmers of all categories, big and small, for irrigation. With the aim of strengthening and improving the irrigation system, the work of supplying water to the fields through pipelines has been started recently in Santal, Palamu and Kolhan divisions.
The Chief Minister said that the people of the state are benefiting from various public welfare schemes of the government. The government has started many important schemes to bring Jharkhand into the category of developed states. Under the Employment Generation Scheme, the government is providing loans for self-employment. Loans are being given for all types of business purposes. Now the government has started a pension scheme for women who have completed 50 years of age.
People above 50 years of age belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category will also be able to avail the benefit of this scheme. Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana, Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme, Jharkhand Eklavya Training Scheme, Chief Minister Drought Relief Scheme, Old Pension Scheme, Chief Minister Sarathi Scheme, Chief Minister Education Promotion Scheme and other schemes have been started.
This is changing the picture of Jharkhand. The Chief Minister said that the work of strengthening the economic, educational and social system through various schemes is continuing by our government. The government is meeting all the expenses for the education of the tribal, Dalit and backward class children here.
Children are getting quality education in excellent schools. Our government provided ration to the poor by making additional 20 lakh green ration cards. The Chief Minister said that such a lamp of education is being lit in the state which will never extinguish. The government is committed to providing better education to the children here. Now children will not miss their education due to lack of money.
Free coaching facility is being provided by the government for the preparation of competitive exams. The government has taken many steps to improve the education system. Schools of Excellence have been opened to provide quality education to poor children on the lines of private schools. The amount of scholarship has been increased three times. So far 9 lakh girl students have benefited from Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana. Tribal, Dalit, backward and minority children of the state are studying abroad.
Under the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Transnational Scholarship Scheme, the boys and girls of the state are being provided scholarships for higher education abroad. On this occasion, the Chief Minister gifted 84 schemes to Seraikela-Kharsawan district. In this, 11 schemes were inaugurated and the foundation stone of 73 schemes was laid. Under which Rs 356 crore 27 lakh 28 thousand will be spent.
While the total amount of inauguration schemes is Rs 28 crore 25 lakh 32 thousand 9 hundred, the amount of foundation stone laying schemes is Rs 328 crore 1 lakh 95 thousand.
