Alert in hospitals regarding Diwali: 16 beds reserved in RIMS, 10 in Sadar, doctors to be available 24 hours, entire ambulance team ready

Ranchi:  In view of the orders of the Health Department, separate arrangements have been made in two big government hospitals of the capital Ranchi, RIMS and Sadar. While 16 beds have been reserved for this in RIMS, 10 beds have been reserved in Sadar Hospital. Ranchi Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar said that separate arrangements have been made in Sadar Hospital. Along with additional beds, a team of expert doctors will be available 24 hours in case of emergency.

According to RIMS Director Dr. Rajiv Gupta, RIMS is also in alert mode and is ready to deal with any untoward incident. Apart from this, the entire ambulance team is also ready. 16 beds will be reserved, eight junior residents are on duty, one resident will also be present, and three senior doctors will be reserved who can be called in case of emergency.

According to doctors, burning the skin hurts, but it is important to know how much burning is risky at what age. It is fraught with risk for children to get burns up to 10 percent. On the other hand, burning 30 per cent or more of the bigger one is an alarm bell.

Instructions given by Doctors –

• In such a situation, it is important to keep in mind that in case of burn, first of all wash the burnt area with cold water for about 20 minutes.
• Never use paste, ghee, potato, curd, ice etc. on the burnt area.
• Go to the nearest hospital or contact a doctor without delay.
• If there is any wound or injury on any part while burning firecrackers, then immerse the burnt part in cold water or clean it with a cloth soaked in cold water.
• In case of fire, drop, cover and roll or cover the person with a blanket immediately.
• If there is any burning sensation in the face or chest, seek immediate medical help.
• Do not hold the burn cloth under excessive water pressure
• Do not remove the cloth stuck to the burnt area
• Do not apply butter ointment, oil on the affected area
• Do not apply ice as this may reduce the healing time
• Avoid long loose clothes, as they can catch fire.
• Avoid using matches and lighters to burst crackers for Diwali as they have open flames which can be dangerous.
• Rockets can burn if any overhead obstructions like trees and wires are present.
