Ranchi: Three people were killed after Coal Mine collapsed in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand on Friday. The incident took place at 10 AM near the Closed mines of Bhura of Bharat Cooking Coal Limited near Jharia.
According to villagers, hundreds of people are involved in illegal mining in that area. When they were digging coal in the closed Bhura Mines of BCCL, suddenly a sound was heard by villagers in which the mine collapsed and three of them were trapped.
Villagers pulled them out from the collapsed mine and rushed them to the nearest hospital where they were declared dead by the doctors.
Family Members stage a protest for compensation. Dhanbad SP Sanjeev Kumar Said “ I got information about the death of three people due to illegal mining and we are conducting rescue operations”. We are waiting for the report of BCCL, Dhanbad SP added.
