Tribal organizations organise Maharally in capital over Sarna Dharma Code, say no vote without Sarna Code

Ranchi: On the demand of the Sarna Religious Code a Maharally of various tribal organizations was held under the banner of Adivasi Samaj Sarna Dharma Raksha Abhiyaan at Morhabadi Grounds of the state capital in which the speakers gave the call of no vote without religious code.

A large number of people had gathered at this rally. Tribals from Jharkhand, Nepal, Bhutan, Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Bihar also participated in the rally. Tribal organizations demanded the Sarna Religious Code from the central government and the BJP through the rally.

The rally was addressed by many people including Dr Karma Oraon, Ravi Tigga, Balku Oraon, Ajit Tete, Narayan Oraon, Renu Tirkey, Nirmal Marandi, Bhagwan Das, Sushil Oraon, Amar Oraon. Everyone said that if there is no code, then there is no vote.

They said that this issue will dominate the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Addressing the rally, Sarna Dharma Guru Bandhan Tigga said that tribals are neither Hindu nor Sanatan and that is why the conspiracy to eliminate the tribals should stop.

He said that over 12 crore tribals across the country have their own religion own culture own rituals own place of worship and own customs, which do not follow Hindu law that is why the Sarna religious code should be implemented for tribals. He warned that if the central government does not do this, then it can have serious consequences.

Further said that as far as delisting is concerned, delisting should happen but not only the tribals who became Christian from Sarna but also the tribals who became Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist should be delisted. Bandhan Tigga said that under the conspiracy, efforts are being made to eliminate the tribals, which will not be tolerated at all.

He said that in 2011, about 50 lakh tribals across the country registered their religious code in the census form. At the same time, more than 40 lakh people in the world got the Sarna religion code marked and that is why it cannot be said that tribals are Hindu or Sanatan. He said that we will not allow the national census to take place until there is a separate Sarna religion code in the census form.
