High level committee formed to prepare draft of 'Scheme-2022' for regularization of unauthorized residential construction

Ranchi: On the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the Urban Development and Housing Department has started action in the direction of regularizing the unauthorized residential construction done in the urban areas of the state. For this, a ten-member high-level interdepartmental committee has been constituted by the department to prepare the draft “Scheme-2022 for regularization of unauthorized residential construction”. 

The department has issued a notification in this regard. After studying the order/plan made by various states to regularize unauthorized residential construction, this high-level committee has prepared a draft of the “Scheme for regularization of unauthorized residential construction - 2022” relative to the local parameters of the state of Jharkhand. 

Development and Housing Department. In this regard, the chairperson and members of the committee may also visit as needed, so that the special aspects obtained after studying the ways to actually effect the plan can be included in the draft of the plan to be prepared.

The director of the Directorate of Urban Administration will be the chairman of the high-level committee. Whereas, Municipal Commissioner of Ranchi Municipal Corporation, Municipal Commissioner of Giridih Municipal Corporation, Engineer Head of the Building Construction Department, Engineer Head of the Road Construction Department, Chief Engineer of the Technical Cell of Urban Development and Housing Department, Director General of Fire Services, Planning Development Department Joint Director, Urban Development and Housing Department, Under Secretary/ Deputy Secretary and City Investor will be the members. 

On October 20, a delegation of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries, led by Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, met the Chief Minister and urged him to take initiative towards regularization of un-mapped buildings and structures in urban areas of the state.

The Chief Minister had assured the delegation that the government would take positive initiatives in this direction. In this context, taking quick initiative, he directed the Urban Development and Housing Department to constitute a high-level committee.
