Heatwaves claims two lives in Kolhan, weather to remain hot

Ranchi: The scorching heat and strong sunlight is wreaking havoc in the state due to which two women died in East Singhbhum district and six students fell unconscious in different areas.

A 60-year-old unidentified woman was resting under a tree near Hadtopa on Sundernagar-Jadugoda main road in East Singhbhum. Suddenly blood started coming out of her mouth and nose and she died in a short time. In another incident, a woman who was walking on foot suddenly fell on the road in the afternoon near Murgaguttu of Jadugoda. The woman could not be identified. The cause of death of both has been given as scorching heat.

On the other hand, in government and private schools, due to scorching heat and heat children becoming ill and unconscious continues. Bokaro and Ramgarh in central Jharkhand recorded temperatures of 40 degree celsius. At the same time, the temperature of Hazaribagh, Gumla and Khunti was recorded at 39 degrees.

The highest heat in the state is being felt in West Jharkhand. The temperature in Palamu, Garhwa and Chatra has reached 43 degree Celsius.

The temperature is expected to increase further in these districts. Similarly, the temperature of Seraikela is above 41 degrees and that of Jamshedpur and Chaibasa is above 42 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature of West Jharkhand may increase by three degrees in five days.

On April 13, the temperature of Garhwa is likely to cross 45 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, the possibility of heatwaves has increased. In such a situation, it has been advised to take precautions, drink more water, consume more fluids and avoid sunlight in the afternoon.
