Ranchi: The much hyped No car Saturday initiative of Ranchi Municipal Corporation has started to run out of steam as it has been now confined to just taking out bicycle rallies.
The situation can be analysed with the fact that more than 90 percent of officials and staff of the Ranchi municipal corporation are coming to work either in cars or in their two wheelers when probed they are coming up with execuses, moreover people in the DC office claimed that they were not even aware of such an initiative.
When asked some of the staff of the RMC said that they did not know how to ride the bicycle while few others claimed that since they have to come for far distance it was not possible for them travel in bicycle.
Deputy Town Commissioner Kunwar Singh Pahan on Saturday took out a bicycle rally from Morhabadi Grounds to MG Road during which he urged the people to ride bicycles and highlighted its benefits.
