Mumbai — Amid reports of a fallout with co-star Parth Samthaan on the sets of Seher Hone Ko Hai, actress Rishita Kothari has shared an emotional note addressing online trolling and personal struggles.
The statement comes after sections of social media users — reportedly fans of Parth — began criticising Rishita and even demanded her replacement from the show.
Taking to social media, Rishita reflected on the emotional toll of staying silent in the face of judgment and negativity. “I’ve always been a quiet person… but silence doesn’t mean I don’t feel. It doesn’t mean I don’t get hurt. And it definitely doesn’t mean I deserve to be misunderstood,” she wrote.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunities she has received, the actress also spoke about the darker side of public attention. She said that while audience love has shaped her journey, it has also brought along hate and criticism — sometimes even targeting her close ones. “That is what breaks me the most,” she added.
Rishita revealed that she had long suppressed her feelings, believing that staying quiet was part of being new in the industry. “I was told, ‘it’s a man’s world, you have to bear it.’ But slowly, that silence started to weigh on me,” she wrote, describing moments of feeling unheard and isolated.
Questioning the perception of silence, she asked why being reserved is often mistaken for arrogance or guilt. Despite the backlash, she emphasised that her focus remains on her craft and spreading positivity. “I’m just here to act, to perform, to grow, and to spread love and kindness—for the people who truly stand by me,” she said.
Meanwhile, Parth recently announced a temporary break from social media, citing distress over alleged personal attacks involving fake or bot accounts targeting him and his family. Without naming anyone, he suggested he may be aware of who is behind the trolling but chose not to escalate the issue publicly.
“I have always been a peaceful and positive guy… but recently I’ve seen someone using bot accounts to post rubbish about my family and personal life. It’s extremely hurtful,” he wrote, adding that he would instead focus on his work and personal life during this break.
The situation has drawn attention to the growing impact of online toxicity on actors, particularly those navigating public scrutiny early in their careers.
