Mumbai: Actress Neha Dhupia has come out strongly in support of Patralekhaa after the latter faced body shaming on social media following a recent public appearance.
Patralekhaa, who recently welcomed a baby girl, responded to the criticism by explaining that her body is naturally going through changes after childbirth. She emphasized that such transformations are a normal part of bringing new life into the world.
Echoing this sentiment, Neha Dhupia called out the constant and often unfair scrutiny women face over their appearance—especially new mothers. Sharing Patralekhaa’s post on her Instagram Stories, Neha wrote that commenting on someone’s body needs to stop, urging people to reflect on their own mindset instead of judging others. She also sent her love and support to Patralekhaa.
Earlier, Patralekhaa had strongly reacted to the trolling, pointing out that she is not only adjusting to motherhood but also managing work on two films simultaneously. She stressed that weight gain after pregnancy is natural and not something to be ridiculed.
The actress, known for her role in CityLights, appealed for empathy and kindness, reminding people that pregnancy affects every woman’s body differently. She added that such insensitive remarks only highlight the need for greater awareness and compassion.
Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao welcomed their daughter on November 15 last year, coinciding with their fourth wedding anniversary.
