Keanu Reeves’ Good Fortune to hit Indian theatres on October 17

Mumbai- Keanu Reeves-starrer Good Fortune, directed by Aziz Ansari, is set to release in Indian theatres on October 17.

Speaking about his role as Gabriel, Reeves shared: “Gabriel believed he could make a difference. He thought he could find a lost soul, use his powers to show them the future, and they would suddenly gain a deeper understanding of their life. But through experiencing humanity, he discovered that none of us are truly alone — that our journey is shaped by our friends, loved ones, and the connections that bring meaning and authenticity to life.”

On casting Reeves, Ansari revealed: “When Keanu’s name came up, I was stunned — he’s such a big star. But when I met him, I immediately knew it had to be Keanu. Once he showed interest in the role, the character really came alive, evolving into this loveable and unique personality with a rich arc across the film.”

The film’s synopsis describes Gabriel, a well-meaning but hilariously clumsy angel, who intervenes in the lives of a struggling gig worker and a wealthy venture capitalist. What starts as a divine lesson on the limits of money quickly spirals into chaos, forcing Gabriel to face consequences even heaven didn’t anticipate.

Alongside Reeves, the film features Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh.

Good Fortune is produced by Aziz Ansari, Anthony Katagas, and Alan Yang, with executive producers Aniz Adam Ansari, Jonathan McCoy, Christopher Woodrow, and Connor DiGregorio.

The comedy premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6. PVR INOX Pictures will release Lionsgate’s Good Fortune in Indian cinemas on October 17.
