Mumbai: Television star Ankita Lokhande delighted her fans on Thursday by slipping into the role of Paro from the classic film Devdas, originally played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Sharing a video on social media, Ankita was seen performing to the evergreen song “Bairi Piya” from the film.
Draped in a deep red saree with crimped hair and traditional jewellery, Ankita exuded bridal elegance, perfectly recreating Paro’s charm. The actress has been adorning festive looks daily as she continues to welcome guests visiting her home for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Amid the festivities, Ankita and her husband Vicky Jain have been cherishing moments together. Vicky recently posted a series of romantic photos and videos on Instagram, captioned, “Festive Ready. Day 2 of Bappa. With my Ankita by my side, the celebrations feel even more special. Festive vibes, love, and blessings all the way! Ganpati Bappa Morya.”
Fondly called AnVi by fans, the couple hosted a star-studded Ganesh Chaturthi gathering at their residence, attended by Nia Sharma, Shubhaavi Choksey, Arjun Bijlani with his wife Neha Swami, and other celebrity friends.
On the professional front, Ankita rose to fame with her debut show Pavitra Rishta (2009–2014), where her portrayal of Archana remains iconic. She tied the knot with businessman Vicky Jain in December 2021 in a grand Mumbai wedding. The duo later appeared together on Bigg Boss 17, successfully navigating challenges to their relationship on screen. Most recently, Ankita and Vicky featured in the popular cooking reality show Laughter Chefs 2.
