Mumbai: The makers of the upcoming film Param Sundari unveiled its motion poster on Wednesday and announced that the much-anticipated cross-cultural romance will hit theatres worldwide on August 29, 2025.
The motion poster was revealed on Instagram in a joint post by Janhvi Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, and Maddock Films. It features Sidharth looking dashing in a casual shirt and jeans, with a bag slung over his shoulder. Janhvi appears as a traditional Indian beauty, performing a classical dance in a saree. The two characters are shown crossing paths in a striking moment.
The teaser ends with the message:
“In cinemas worldwide. 29th August 2025. A Maddock Films Production.”
It also announces the release of the film’s first song, “Pardesiya”, scheduled to drop later the same day.
The caption of the post reads:
"Dinesh Vijan brings to you the Biggest Love Story of the Year. #ParamSundari arrives in cinemas on 29th August. And in just 1 hour, feel its soul with the year’s most heartfelt song — #Pardesiya."
Originally set to release on July 25, 2025, the film has now been postponed to the end of August.
Set in the scenic backwaters of Kerala, Param Sundari tells the story of a romance between a North Indian man, played by Sidharth Malhotra, and a South Indian woman, portrayed by Janhvi Kapoor. According to Maddock Films, the movie "promises a heartfelt tale of love where two worlds collide, filled with laughter, chaos, and surprising twists."
Producer Dinesh Vijan told Variety that the film echoes the spirit of Mani Ratnam’s classics like Saathiya (the Hindi remake of Alai Payuthey), blending emotional depth with a strong musical backdrop. He described it as “taking Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya a step further,” combining high-tech elements with a rustic, folk-inspired vibe akin to the world of Kantara.
