Rashmika Mandanna: 'The Smell of the First Rain Is the Best'

Mumbai – Actress Rashmika Mandanna recently shared her love for the scent of the first rain, even though she admits she's not too fond of how it slows everything down.

Taking to Instagram, Rashmika posted a reel capturing the beauty of the rain, paired with a quote: “The scent of Mother Earth when it rains.”

She captioned the post:
“So, the rains are backkkk... I’m not the biggest fan of how everything tends to slow down when we’re working, but oh my god! The smell of the first rain—there’s nothing like it. It’s the most beautiful scent and feeling. You know what I mean? It’s just lovely.”

On the work front, Rashmika has a packed schedule. She will be seen in Aditya Sarpotdar’s Thama alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. Her upcoming projects also include Kubera, Pushpa 3, The Girlfriend, and Rainbow.

On May 20, the Animal actress turned heads on the red carpet at the Zee Cine Awards 2025, dazzling in a contemporary black fusion saree. The outfit featured a deep sweetheart neckline blouse with a netted waist. She completed the look with gold heart-shaped earrings, soft brown-toned makeup, and loose, center-parted hair.

Sharing photos from the event, Rashmika wrote:
“It’s been a while, but I was finally back on the red carpet... All the love pouring in makes my heart so happy. Just wanted to show you what I wore that day...”

She also expressed gratitude to her team:
“A huge shoutout to my team – they’ve always got my back. The only reason I can survive these incredibly tough, busy days is because of them and my family. Sending bone-crushing hugs to each one of you.”

Rashmika’s most recent film, Chhaava, was screened in Maharashtra’s remote tribal district of Gadchiroli, shown in an inflatable cinema hall.

Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Chhaava is based on the life of Sambhaji Maharaj and aimed to encourage moviegoing culture in the region.
