Jharkhand to witness rain, thunderstorms till September 25; heavy rain alert in several districts

Jharkhand is likely to witness unsettled weather over the next five days as a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is expected to influence weather conditions across the state. The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in several parts of Jharkhand from September 21 to 25, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds.

On September 21, light to moderate rain is likely at several places, with thunderstorms possible in some areas. Wind speeds may reach 30-40 kmph during the period.

Rain is expected to continue on September 22, with several districts, including Ranchi, likely to experience showers more than once during the day.

September 23 is expected to be the most active day of the spell. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Ranchi, Khunti, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Giridih, Deoghar and Jamtara districts. Gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph are also likely during this period.

On September 24, the weather is expected to remain largely unsettled, with heavy rain possible at isolated places in northeastern districts and parts of central Jharkhand adjoining Dhanbad. The weather department has also advised people to remain cautious in view of possible lightning and strong winds.

Rain is likely to continue at several places on September 25. Some areas may receive heavy showers accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph.

The prolonged spell of rain is also expected to bring down temperatures across the state. The maximum temperature may fall by 3-4 degrees Celsius, providing some relief from warmer conditions.

The Meteorological Department has advised residents to avoid open areas during thunderstorms and lightning and take necessary precautions during periods of heavy rain and strong winds.
