Jharkhand Strengthens Global Investment Push as Hemant Soren Engages Industry Leaders

New Delhi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren held a series of high-level Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings with leading industry associations, global investors and corporate delegations during the second day of the two-day National Stakeholders' Consultation 2026, reaffirming the state's commitment to becoming a preferred destination for investment and industrial growth.

The discussions covered a wide range of sectors, including tourism, manufacturing, green energy, healthcare, skill development, industrial infrastructure and strategic investments.

A delegation led by Singapore High Commissioner to India Simon Wong Wie Kuen expressed strong interest in building a long-term partnership with Jharkhand. The talks focused on attracting investments, establishing world-class skill centres and Centres of Excellence, adopting Singapore's successful vocational training model, mapping industry-specific skill requirements and collaborating in healthcare, medical education and research. The delegation also proposed a comprehensive assessment of the state's industrial ecosystem and workforce to identify priority sectors and prepare a targeted investment and capacity-building roadmap. Welcoming the proposals, the Chief Minister assured that the government would prepare a structured action plan to take the partnership forward.

Representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) presented investment proposals in renewable energy, including solar and wind power, smart metering, transmission infrastructure, grid modernisation, solar cell and module manufacturing, and digital energy management. Soren appreciated the proposals and reiterated the state's commitment to promoting green energy-driven industrial development through continuous collaboration.

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) suggested measures to position Jharkhand as a leading destination for eco-tourism, destination weddings, sports tourism and MICE tourism. The recommendations included strengthening tourism infrastructure, destination management, hospitality services, trained local guides and connectivity. The Chief Minister said the government sees tourism as a major driver of employment and economic growth.

Online travel platform EaseMyTrip announced its decision to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jharkhand government to promote tourism in the state. The company shared plans to invite leading travel influencers and digital content creators to showcase Jharkhand's natural beauty, cultural heritage and tourist attractions to national and international audiences. Soren welcomed the initiative and assured full government support.

Representatives of MakeMyTrip also expressed interest in partnering with the state government to promote Jharkhand's tourism destinations through the company's digital platform and extensive marketing network, helping the state reach a wider audience.

The Chief Minister also held discussions with representatives of Hero Cycles and Avon Cycles on establishing bicycle and e-bicycle manufacturing units in Jharkhand. He highlighted the state's investor-friendly policies, availability of industrial land, strong steel-based industrial ecosystem, improved logistics and skilled workforce as key advantages. The discussions explored the possibility of investments ranging from ?500 crore to ?1,000 crore to develop an integrated manufacturing ecosystem while generating large-scale employment.

In another significant proposal, the FICCI Tourism Federation suggested developing an international-standard golf course and golf tourism hub in Ranchi. Soren assured that the state government would facilitate suitable land for the project, noting that it would boost sports tourism, hospitality, real estate and employment while strengthening Jharkhand's presence on the national and global tourism map. The delegation agreed to work closely with the government to take the project forward.

Addressing the participants, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said the Jharkhand government remains committed to creating a business-friendly environment through progressive policies and continuous engagement with industry. He expressed confidence that the ideas and partnerships emerging from the consultation would accelerate investment, industrial expansion, tourism, renewable energy and sustainable economic growth, further positioning Jharkhand as an emerging investment destination.
