Body of youth recovered from waters of stone mine in Ranchi

Ranchi: Body of a youth was taken out from the waters of a closed stone mine located under Tupudana OP of the state capital on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Neeraj Tirkey (19) who was a student of intermediate. His body was taken out by the jawans of the NDRF from the waters.

Police said that on Wednesday the boy along with his other friends had gone to the spot popularly known as Blue Pond among the locals for a bath. Since Neeraj did not know how to swim he was standing near the end but unfortunately, he slipped and went into deeper waters and was drowned.

Upon receiving information a police team also reached on the spot and a team of NDRF was called but since it had got dark the team could not find the boy. On Thursday morning the team once again started its operation and took out the body which was later sent for post-mortem.
