Limited number of people to be present during state and district level I-Day celebrations: Chief Secretary

Ranchi: Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh has directed that in wake of the directions issued by the Union Home Ministry in wake of Coronavirus this time-limited number of people would be present during the Independence Day function to be held at the state and district level.

Reviewing the preparations for Independence Day celebrations he said that this year the main function would be held at the JAP grounds in Doranda. He said that some of the people who would be invited to the function would include doctors fighting the Corona crisis,  cleanliness staff and people those who have defeated Coronavirus. He said that while inviting people it should be made sure that children less than 10 years old and old men above 60 years should not be invited.

The Chief Secretary said that all the invitees should wear masks and follow social distancing, further proper distancing should be also ensured between the two chairs which would be put up during the function and no double seater sofas should be brought to the venue.

Mr Singh said that in wake of Coronavirus the concerned officials would make arrangements for sanitisation, doctors, health staff, cleanliness staff, ambulance at the venue.

In the main function jawans of CRPF, JAP, District Police, Fire Brigade and Home Guards would participate. The Chief Secretary asked to undertake cleaning of the statues of the freedom fighters and other great men, further, the entire road leading to the venue should be kept clean.

Those present in the meeting also included Additional Chief Secretary Home, DGP, Principal Secretaries of the Department concerned and DC and SSP Ranchi.
