Three-match T20I series added to India women's tour of SA

Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Thursday announced the addition of a three-match T20I series to the Indian women's cricket team's multi-format tour of South Africa in December 2026.

The T20I series has been added to help South Africa prepare for the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy, scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in February 2027.

The tour will now run from December 9 to 30, with the newly added T20I series concluding India's visit.

The series will begin with a Boxing Day T20I on December 26 at Willowmoore Park in Benoni. The second and third matches will be played at the NWC Oval in Potchefstroom on December 29 and 30 respectively.

India's tour will begin with a one-off Test at St George's Park in Gqeberha from December 9 to 12. The teams will then play a three-match ICC Women's Championship ODI series in Paarl, Cape Town and Bloemfontein between December 16 and 22.

Welcoming the revised schedule, CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki said the addition of the T20I series would provide the Proteas Women with valuable preparation ahead of the Champions Trophy.

He added that playing India across all three formats would provide important competition as South Africa builds towards another major ICC tournament.

India had toured South Africa for a five-match T20I series in April this year as part of their preparations for the Women's T20 World Cup. South Africa won that series 4-1.
