Jaiswal, Kuldeep Shine in Test Rankings; Rashid Khan Becomes World No. 1 ODI Bowler

Dubai — India’s dominance in Test cricket continues to reflect in the latest ICC rankings, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kuldeep Yadav achieving major gains after India’s commanding 2-0 Test series victory over the West Indies.

Jaiswal climbed two spots to reach fifth place among Test batters, sitting just behind England’s Joe Root. Kuldeep, meanwhile, surged seven positions to 14th among Test bowlers following his impressive performances with the ball throughout the series.

Despite the losses, there were positives for the West Indies as well. Captain Shai Hope jumped 34 places to joint-66th, while century-scorer John Campbell moved up six spots to 68th among batters. Spinner Jomel Warrican also made progress, rising two positions to 30th in the bowlers’ list.

In One-Day Internationals, Afghanistan etched their name in history. Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai both reached the pinnacle of their respective categories after their side’s emphatic 3-0 whitewash of Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi — Afghanistan’s first-ever ODI series sweep against their Asian rivals.

Rashid reclaimed the top spot among ODI bowlers, overtaking South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj with an impressive 11-wicket haul in the series. Omarzai rose to No.1 among ODI all-rounders, surpassing Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza thanks to his seven wickets and key lower-order contributions.

Rashid’s all-round brilliance also pushed him up two spots to fourth in the ODI all-rounder rankings, as Afghan players continued to dominate across formats.

Player of the Series Ibrahim Zadran climbed eight places to second among ODI batters, closing in on India’s Shubman Gill, who remains the No.1 ODI batter. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (up to 16th) and Mohammad Nabi (up to joint-50th) also made notable advances following the series.
