IPL 2025: RCB’s Open Bus Victory Parade Cancelled, Confirms Bengaluru Traffic Police

New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the newly crowned champions of IPL 2025, have cancelled their planned open-top bus victory parade, Bengaluru Traffic Police announced on Wednesday.

Initially, RCB had planned to celebrate their historic maiden IPL title with a grand parade starting at 5 p.m. from Vidhana Soudha and ending at their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where a felicitation ceremony was scheduled for 6 p.m.

The parade was to follow a meeting between the RCB team and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the Vidhana Soudha. However, a social media update from Bengaluru Traffic Police confirmed that there will be no victory parade and that the celebrations will be limited to the felicitation event at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

“There will be a felicitation function for the RCB team at Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Public are advised to avoid roads around Vidhana Soudha and Chinnaswamy Stadium from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no victory parade. Due to limited parking, the public is encouraged to use Metro and other public transport,” read the official post.

In a separate advisory, Bengaluru Police stated that entry to the stadium would be limited to fans holding valid passes. They again emphasized using public transport due to the scarcity of parking spaces near the venue.

RCB, led by Rajat Patidar, clinched their first-ever IPL title with a thrilling six-run win over Shreyas Iyer's Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The franchise became the fourth different team to win the IPL in the last four seasons.

Star batter Virat Kohli top-scored with a solid 43 off 35 balls, helping RCB reach 190/9. In reply, Punjab Kings managed 184/7, thanks to a stellar bowling effort spearheaded by Krunal Pandya, who was named Player of the Match for his 2/17 in four overs. The win marked a long-awaited triumph for RCB and Kohli in the tournament’s 18th season.
