Godrej Unveils India’s First 48V Li-ion Electric Hand Pallet Truck, Boosting Green Logistics

New Delhi — In a major stride towards sustainable industrial mobility, Godrej Enterprises Group’s Material Handling Equipment business on Thursday unveiled the GEPT 20, India’s first 48V Li-ion powered electric hand pallet truck. The launch signals a significant advancement in warehouse automation and efficiency amid the rapid growth of India’s logistics sector.

The company described the GEPT 20 as a game-changer for the nation’s evolving warehousing ecosystem, offering three times higher productivity than conventional hand pallet trucks. With a runtime of over four hours on a single charge, the equipment can lift and move loads up to two tonnes with ease.

“It delivers superior lifting speed, extended runtime, precise control, and exceptional durability,” the company said in a statement.

Designed for versatility and safety, the GEPT 20 features a turtle speed mode that enables secure manoeuvring in compact, high-traffic workspaces—making it ideal for modern warehouses, retail backrooms, and industrial facilities.

Anil Lingayat, Business Head of the Material Handling Equipment Business at Godrej Enterprises Group, said the launch reflects the company’s broader vision of sustainable innovation.

“At Godrej Enterprises Group, we are driven by a vision to transform India’s industrial landscape through innovation, efficiency, and sustainability,” Lingayat said. “The GEPT 20 is not just a product launch—it’s a strategic move towards electrifying logistics and empowering businesses with smarter, cleaner technologies.”

He added that by introducing India’s first 48V Li-ion electric hand pallet truck, Godrej is reaffirming its commitment to future-ready, self-reliant, and green growth.

Powered by advanced Li-ion battery technology, the GEPT 20 offers rapid charging, zero maintenance, and a longer lifecycle, representing a clear upgrade over traditional lead-acid or manual alternatives.

The company emphasized that the launch aligns with its commitment to sustainable innovation, aiming to lower the carbon footprint of supply chains while enhancing productivity across sectors.

As India’s manufacturing, e-commerce, retail, and infrastructure sectors continue to expand, solutions like the GEPT 20 are poised to play a pivotal role in enabling faster, safer, and cleaner operations—a vital step in building the nation’s green logistics future.
