New Delhi: In a move that strengthens the global footprint of India’s automobile sector, Tata Motors on Saturday introduced 10 new commercial vehicles in Sri Lanka, in partnership with its long-standing distributor, DIMO.
The launch highlights Tata Motors’ commitment to delivering advanced transport solutions tailored to Sri Lanka’s growing infrastructure, logistics, and public transport needs.
“With a rich legacy and deep understanding of the Sri Lankan market, we have introduced application-oriented vehicles designed to enhance efficiency and profitability for our customers,” said Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors.
The milestone also marks 65 years of partnership between Tata Motors and DIMO. “For over six decades, DIMO has proudly represented Tata Motors in Sri Lanka, bringing advanced commercial vehicles that continue to set benchmarks in performance and reliability,” said Ranjith Pandithage, Chairman, DIMO.
According to Tata Motors, the new range has been engineered to meet diverse cargo and passenger mobility requirements, offering smart, reliable, and performance-driven solutions.
This development comes shortly after Tata Motors announced its re-entry into South Africa’s passenger vehicle market earlier this month, unveiling models such as the Punch, Curvv, Tiago, and Harrier.
Currently, Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles are sold in over 40 countries, spanning a portfolio from sub-1-tonne mini-trucks to 60-tonne heavy-duty trucks, along with passenger carriers ranging from 9 to 71 seats. With more than seven decades of expertise in commercial mobility, the company continues to focus on performance, durability, and cost efficiency.
