Make in India Boost: New Galaxy Z Foldables Hit Record 2.1 Lakh Pre-Orders

New Delhi: Samsung's latest foldable smartphones — the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE — have seen record-breaking pre-orders in India, the company announced on Saturday.

These seventh-generation foldable devices, all manufactured in India, received an impressive 2.1 lakh (210,000) pre-orders within just the first 48 hours of launch. This milestone nearly matches the pre-order numbers of the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year.

JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, said, “The record-breaking pre-orders for our ‘Made in India’ foldables reflect how quickly young Indian consumers are embracing cutting-edge technology.”

He added, “The Galaxy Z Fold7 offers our most advanced smartphone experience yet — blending power, intelligence, and portability. The success of these devices brings us closer to our goal of making foldables mainstream in India.”

The Galaxy Z Fold7 combines high-end engineering with smart features in Samsung’s slimmest and lightest foldable design so far. Weighing just 215 grams, it is lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra and measures only 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded. It promises a premium smartphone experience, along with enhanced efficiency and productivity thanks to its larger immersive display.

The Galaxy Z Flip7, on the other hand, is a compact AI-powered smartphone featuring the new FlexWindow. Designed to fit comfortably in your pocket, it offers top-tier camera capabilities, Galaxy AI integration, and a striking edge-to-edge display.

Samsung said the Flip7 is its slimmest flip phone yet, weighing just 188 grams and only 13.7mm thick when folded. It’s built for convenience, with features like intuitive voice AI and exceptional selfie performance, making it an ideal everyday companion.
